Welsh/bilingual Discotots Birthday Parties are now also available to book!

We cover Cardiff and the Vale, and will travel up to 30mins e.g. as far as parts of Newport, Risca, Cwmbran, Caerphilly, Rudry, Pontypridd and Bridgend.

Discotots children’s birthday parties are exciting, contemporary and upbeat!  Disco lights; bubbles; funky versions of action songs; fun dances; instruments; whacky puppets; exciting props (pompoms, ribbons, scarves, parachute and lots more!); and musical/party games they’ll love! Each party is based on a winning formula but all of the action songs/dances/games, and general music played can be tailored to your child’s age, interests and favourite tunes!

Discotots parties ensure that the children are kept entertained for the full 2hrs whilst you sit back, relax, and enjoy the fun!  To ensure that you get the best out of your party we will advise on numbers and appropriate venues.

Times

We would be arriving approximately half an hour before the party to set up the disco equipment and props.  Most halls charge for 2hrs, allowing half hour either side for setting up/packing away.

To fit around food I usually recommend the following times (although we can sometimes be flexible):

11am – 1pm (children eating at 12noon) or 3 – 5pm(children eating at 4pm)

Cost

The fee is £150 for up to 35 children (we usually recommend 25-30 children but understand that some nursery/school classes are larger).

A £50 deposit is payable on booking (cheque or BACS), and the balance is payable via BACS by the Thursday before the party, or cash on the day. Parties of up to 40 children cost £160 (the extra £10 is paid to the party facilitator).  We do not cater for parties of more than 40.

Structure & Activities

Discotots parties are fast paced and dynamic, and the children are kept entertained for the full 2hrs – so you can relax and enjoy your little one’s special day! Activities include modern funky versions of fun action songs (for younger children), simple dances/party dances, both original and traditional exciting musical games, parachute games and team games.  Children love the large variety of props used throughout (instruments, puppets, pompoms, scarves, ribbons and lots more!!!).

First 15-20mins – Your little one’s favourite music can be played for the children to dance to whilst everyone arrives. The disco and bubble machine are running (fog machine also available for older children), and hula hoops are put out.

Once the majority of guests have arrived the first set of activities will commence.

Half time (12 or 4pm) – The children will then be organized to go to the food tables to eat and to sing happy birthday with your cake.

As soon as the children have finished eating, we begin the second set of activities and provide sweets/chocolates as prizes. There is also a little bit of time for a boogie to your child’s favourite song to finish.  Some children like to have the opportunity to thank their guests or to sing their favourite song on our ‘special’ microphone at the end.

Venue & Number of Guests

The venue and number of guests being invited will need to be discussed so I can advise on what will work best for the relevant age group/size of hall. The agreed number of children should not be exceeded as it may go over the capacity for the hall when considering the activities the children will be doing.  Inviting too many children may lead to us having to restrict activities if they are deemed to be unsafe/if there is not enough space, or we may not have enough props for all of the children to participate.

A hall with some curtains or blinds is recommended so the children can benefit from the effects of the lights.

We do have a great deal of equipment and props to load into the building, so ease of access is important (for example, we tend not to facilitate parties in venues where we are unable to park directly outside the building, or where it is necessary to negotiate flights of steps).  We are usually able to advise and provide contact numbers for appropriate halls.
